    Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

    The deadline to apply for the expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness program is coming up fast.  As our partners at the American Federation of Teacher’s explain: If you have student debt and, like most AFT members, work for a public employer or nonprofit organization—regardless of whether you work in education, healthcare or another profession—you could have your entire debt balance forgiven, but YOU MUST APPLY before Oct. 31, 2022, to benefit from the temporary PSLF waiver.  To learn more, click here.

    Debt Relief: An Overview

    On August 24, 2022, President Joe Biden announced an effort to provide relief through debt cancellation to qualified borrowers. Since then, many questions have arisen. Here, we seek to address some of the most frequent questions: Debt Relief: An Overview How much student loan debt is eligible for cancellation? Federal student loans recipients are eligible to receive up to $10,000 in debt cancellation. Additionally, Pell Grant recipients are eligible to receive an additional $10,000 for a total of up to $20,000 in debt cancellation.
